Match report   Wet and windy didn't think the game would even be on as we set off to Pocklington.
This was a game I thought might be a bit tricky out of all our remaining games so we needed to be on it this morning. Pocklington played on thier smallest pitch which we didn't think was to our favour.
In the first half we played with the wind and to be honest were never in trouble as we controled the game and went 3-0 up, Matty carrying on his great form with a first half hat trick. Pocklington never had a shot at goal or even threatened to.
We were now against the wind and still playing well as we broke down their defence time after time but not converting all the one on one's was going to come back and bite us. I was even thinking at this stage that we might get that sought after clean sheet we had been dreaming of, how wrong could I be.
It all started to go wrong halfway through the second half still 3-0 up Pocklington got a free kick a long way out and for some reason we defended right on our goal line (proberly due to the wind) and they managed to put the ball right into the heart of the goal mouth where any touch would take it in and it did 3-1. The ref then decided to make a game of it and awarded a penalty to Pocklington when everyone but the ref and a couple of Pock supporters thought that the lad had dived. 3-2 and we were starting to panic, within minutes the ref gave a corner when it was a goal kick and with an air of inevability we didn't defend the corner well and they bundled it in 3-3. I have never felt so deflated from a game we were in total control of, to drawing, and maybe losing our shot at the league title. Not only that a couple of the Pock supporters were really enjoying their momment, I had to bite my tounge.
Somehow that goal stirred us into action and we again had a few one on one's which again wern't converted but not long after we crossed a ball into the box where we had at least three shots blocked before it fell to Pip to lash it into the roof of the net 4-3. The boys went wild and I must admitt I enjoyed our momment in front of those Pock supporters.
It was only what we deserved as for 50mins out of a 60min match we were in total control but it just goes to show that even if you control a game for long periods the opposition are always going to have a part of the game and we have to learn not to concede when they have that part of the game.
