Match report   What can i say a really good game today and a really good performance by the lads, they are starting to play some good footabll and the game was really engrossing from begingin to end.

Ben Bailey in goal had a bit to do today and was able to cover his area as woodthorpe were up for it today and felt begrudged at losing to us last week after going ahead .

playing with a back 3 is always a risk But guy cowley held the line and made sure he was up to the job as usual he battled hard and made clearance after clearance and used his head well , he formed a central spine from the defence to the front of Guy, David and Chris that enabled the team to surge forward and pressure the opposition. Scott on the right played a very solid game as did Cameron on the left whos trademark is becoming putting his foot through the ball to clear it when we are under pressure i dont think i have seem him fumble the ball once.

Seth was really determined today and won ball after ball and set up the move that got us our second goal. David Thomspn played out of his skin today and was into everything and seemed to be involved in every move we palyed, we rely on david so much to dictate the pace and flow of the game he was in defence midfield and up front for us today and got himslef on the scoresheet by bagging our winner.
Aaron ran and ran again today and you do feel like something is going to happen when he gets the ball he leads by example as a captain and today was no exception. Oli Bates nealry scored a goal that cantona would have been proud of by turning on the ball and hitting a half volley that would have been a really spectacular goal. Oli Carroll began the move that set up our winner and took on players with his winding runs
Up front we had Chris and Will they were causing all sorts of probelms for woodthorpe Will was picking up balls and looked was able to make a real nuisance of himself. And chris edged out otday as lead goalscorer with 2 really well taken goals, he also made some great runs forward and beat woodthorpes super fast defender with some ease, he is only gonna get better which is some what sweet for us as coaches we relly want to see more of chris pushing forward.

A lack of concentrqation from us let woodthorpe back into the game and our heads dropped a little and we were concerned they might nick, but up popped james G who came on as sub and ran at the opposition and nearly got on the score sheet himself its only a matter of time before he starts scoring, bringing james on seemed to raise our game and in the end we won.

We do need to work on staying alert for the full game as like last week woodthorpes gains were down to some of our uncertainties.

But other than that a great performance its always hard to choose a man of the match, when things go like today as like last week there was a choice of many, but we can only choose one So today it has to go to Guy whos work ethic is excellent he holds a firm back line headers and clears and is great in a scrap.

well done lads
