Match report | Fulford welcomed Rufforth to Lord Deramores on a dry and relatively mild Sunday morning. However overnight rain had left the main pitch waterlogged, but the far pitch was in good condition, so the games went ahead on that one. Rufforth started the game strongly and were quickly on top. After about 3 minutes their managed realised that they had 7 players on the pitch, so withdrew 1 to balance things up! However it was quickly apparent that Rufforth were a strong, quick powerful side and despite some brave defending from Robin, Sam R, Seb and Declan and some fantastic saves from Ben in goal, Rufforth raced into a 5 goal lead by half time. In the second-half Rufforth scored straight from the kick-off, but for the remaining 9 minutes of the game it became a much more even contest as Fulford began to match the intensity of Rufforth and Fraser, Luke and Archie put together some good passing moves going forward. Robin was the Man of the Match for his good defensive work during the game. |
