| Match report | Fulford visited York City's Training Ground for their final warm up game ahead of the League Cup Final. York City made a flying start and were first to everything and took the lead when their striker scored with a low cross shot. York City continued to play some great football at a good tempo and an excellent passing move led to them doubling their lead after 12 minutes. Fulford finally got into their stride and got a foothold in the game as the first period of 20 minutes came to an end and Joe C was unlucky to see his free kick go narrowly wide. The second 20 minutes was more balanced, with York's best play coming from a tricky winger down the left. One of his runs led to a cross that wasn't cleared and a York midfielder was on hand to make it 3-0. Fulford continued to look to get the ball down and play and the introduction of Frankie had an immeadiate impact as he linked the play very well. Frankie pulled a goal back when he picked up the ball on the right wing, beat a defender and then played a one-two with James and then Will T and beat the keeper with a well placed shot. Frankie then played in James down the inside right channel and his shot made it 3-2. The final period saw both teams go looking for goals and while Fulford had spells of pressure, they didn't create any further clear cut chances. York had a good chance right at the end, but the shot went over the bar. Al in all it was a very enjoyable morning's football for both teams and thanks must go to Nathan Kilby and all at York City for arranging the fixture. |
